      <description><![CDATA[<p>Landed a new job? Congrats! Many Americans receive health insurance through their employer or a parent or spouse’s employer. And for quite a lot of folks, this choice makes the most sense. It’s convenient to have all family health policies under a single provider, and any costs are usually deducted immediately (and pre-tax) from the employee’s paycheck. No muss, no fuss, right?
However, it’s important to carefully review the specific benefits and costs associated with an employer-sponsored plan. Here’s why: not all benefits packages are created equal. Each policy offers different out of pocket limits, covers different services, etc.  Plus, some employers pay the full cost of premiums, while others pay only a portion of premiums. For example, many companies pay most or all of an employee’s plan costs, but pay none of the spouse/children’s premium.</p>
